Program Details
In clinical settings, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Residents learn:
- How to assess the evidence to support different treatment approaches.
- How to evaluate the types of treatments available and how to choose them appropriately for all types of disorders.
- Skill in various treatments domains - medications, working with family units, working directly with individual children, and becoming familiar with various other treatment modalities.
Our didactic and clinical programs are taught from a strong emperical base. Our curriculum is broad-based and individualized training to child and adolescent psychiatry residents who will be well pre-pared for specialty certification and for productive clinical, teaching, and research oriented careers.
The Accrediting Council on Graduate Medical Education has granted our program the maximum length of accreditation during the last three rounds of evaluation. During the most recent evaluation, we received not a single citation. In addition to the quality of the program's content, the satisfaction level of residents is high.
