Application format
- We accept applications only through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). We do not accept any paper applications.
Interview dates
Our interview season occurs in December and January. A personal interview is a required part of the application process. Applicants are encouraged to join the housestaff for dinner the evening prior to their interview day. During the interview visit, applicants will have the opportunity to meet with housestaff, faculty, and the program director.
Position availability
- We have two five-year and two six-year categorical positions available every year. The residencies start on June 26.
- Two new residents are selected each year to participate in a research year, attending The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy & Clinical Practice (TDI) Masters program full-time after either their PGY-2 or -3 year.
Application requirements
- ERAS application, which should include:
- CV (the ERAS-generated CV is acceptable)
- Personal statement
- Transcripts
- Dean's letter
- At least three letters of recommendation
- USMLE scores (successful completion of Part I and Part II is required for NH licensure)
- Photograph
Each year we receive approximately 475 applications, and begin sending out interview invitations just prior to Thanksgiving. We continue to send out invitations on a rolling basis throughout the interview season.
