- Demonstrate respect for patients' needs for symptom relief, control, and dignity.
- Examine and identify own attitudes, feelings, and experiences regarding living with advanced, incurable illness, treatments, dying and death.
- Demonstrate basic skills of self-care, including management of emotional stress, clinical frustrations.
- Identify strategies to prevent and to intervene with colleagues showing signs of excessive stress or burnout.
- Support colleagues around the stress of dealing regularly with patients and families experiencing life-threatening illness.
