All new residents and fellows are required to attend a mandatory GME Institutional Orientation before beginning the training year. Orientation is routinely scheduled for the third week in June for first year residents and July 1st and 2nd for PGY 2’s and above.
An Occupational Medicine pre-employment drug screening and Criminal Background Check are required components of GME onboarding for residents and fellows as well as for visiting residents.
Residents and fellows beginning their training off-cycle as well as visiting residents and fellows from other institutions are required to attend a General Orientation prior to starting training and providing patient care. Off-cycle and visiting residents and fellows must begin training on a Monday, start dates coincide with bi-monthly General Orientation dates.
