Faculty of the Year award
At the end of each academic year, the dermatology residents collectively select one faculty member who exemplifies the spirit of an exceptional teacher: compassionate, intelligent, respectful, dedicated, and engaging. This faculty member consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that residents get the most from their training and become the best dermatologists they can be.
For the 2018-2019 academic year, the residents selected Dr. Joi Carter. Dr. Carter has received the teacher of the year award for the 2019-2020 academic year for her continued efforts and dedication towards the education of residents and medical students.
Dr. Carter's passion about cutaneous lymphoma helps residents and students to not only understand these disease but also share in that same passion and excitement. She has always been known as someone extremely approachable and grounded as she serves as a mentor for several different residents and always a point of contact for advice is needed. She is an excellent example to residents of balancing academic pursuits with clinical practicality.
The residents at Dartmouth Hitchcock fortunate to work with an incredible mentor like Dr. Carter and look forward to each and every future lecture.
