Medical Leader Path
The Pathway, which is integrated into the residency without adding additional years of study, will allow future leaders to continue to develop during the three years of a traditional Internal Medicine residency.
The Pathway consists of three main components: mentorship by senior executives; activities tailored to the resident’s interest; and a longitudinal project relevant to the resident’s desired career trajectory.
Examples of concentrations that can be developed for the resident include:
- Hospital / Health System Management
Because of Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s relationship with both The Dartmouth Institute and the Tuck School of Business, residents in this pathway have outstanding access to the country’s most influential health care decision-makers.
Unique to the Health Care Leader Pathway:
Top-tier clinical training at a growing academic medical center
Pivotal mentorship with leaders in the field
A capstone project that confers applicable real-world experience
A close-knit Ivy League community with extensive educational, financial, and cultural resources
Dual degree candidates, such as those with MD and MBA degrees, or those with significant prior work experience are encouraged to apply to this competitive program and should mention their interest early in the application process.
