Educational Conferences

The Dartmouth-Hitchcock Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program takes pride in its strong educational conference series. We offer six to seven hours of educational conferences to all residents regardless of rotation as listed below. Additionally, each rotation has small group teaching conferences for current members of the team.

CREOG Review
7:00 to 8:00 am, every other Wednesday.

Grand Rounds
7:00 to 8:00 am, Friday. Speakers may be invited to DHMC from other institutions or hail from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth faculty

Resident Didactics Series
9:00 to 11:00 am, Thursday. The curriculum follows a two-year cycle covering core topics in general obstetrics and gynecology, maternal fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology and infertility, urogynecology, gynecologic oncology, and research and wellness. Each topic is taught by a faculty member with expertise in the particular topic.

Noon conference
12:00 to 1:00 pm, Thursday. A weekly rotation of the following topics: Case Conference, Pre-Op Conference, Colposcopy Conference, OBGYN Ultrasound Conference.

Tumor Board
4:00 to 5:00 pm, every other Wednesday. Multidisciplinary conference with faculty from Gynecologic Oncology, Pathology, Radiation Oncology, and other members of the Norris Cotton Cancer Center to discuss treatment recommendations of women with gynecologic cancers.

Morbidity & Mortality Conference
8:00 to 9:00 am, Friday. An OB and GYN case-based conference that each happen once per month. Residents learn to examine outcomes by patient population, identify care processes that need improvement, and suggest and implement systems improvements to improve care.

Journal Club
8:00 to 9:00 am, one Friday per month. This conference is presented by a resident paired with a faculty member to review research study design, evidence-based medicine, critical appraisal of the literature, and review classic and recent sentinel studies in our field

Department Research Conference
Faculty and residents present ongoing research

Urology-Urogynecology Conference
Faculty and residents from both departments discuss common topics and learning issues such as diagnosis and, management of urinary incontinence and other urinary problems.
