Program aims
- Enhance the health of our patients and communities by providing competency-based education in interventional pulmonology, incorporating direct patient care, specialized teaching, research opportunities, and exposure to administrative and advocacy roles.
- Provide care within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team-based framework.
- Develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for informed clinical decision-making while upholding exceptional interpersonal, administrative, and organizational standards essential for lifelong learning.
- Master fundamentals of thoracic anatomy, physiology, oncology, and radiology required for advanced diagnostic expertise in interventional pulmonology.
- Promote the development of exceptional procedural skills and clinical judgment through competency-based education in a collegial and feedback-driven environment.
- Foster academic growth by embedding trainees in design and practice of medical device development and clinical trials research with expectation for scholarly publication and presentation during the course of training.
