Northeast Consortium of Wilderness and Austere Medicine (NECWAM)

The Wilderness and Austere Medicine faculty hold an annual Northeast Consortium of Wilderness and Austere Medicine conference in October.

NECWAM is designed to bring together a community of medical rescuers, health care providers, and educators who care for patients in wilderness and austere settings throughout the Northeast.

Conference attendees attend various workshops to hone their skills.

The conference consists of a poster forum with 5- to 10-minute oral presentations highlighting research, education, and risk management activities. Included is also a lecture series which covers all aspects of wilderness medicine, as well as breakout sessions covering the regional wilderness medicine fellowships and the application of prolonged field care in the search and rescue arena.

The Wilderness and Austere Medicine faculty work continuously to provide educational opportunities.

If you have questions about any of the events (upcoming or past) or have an event suggestion, please contact our Wilderness and Austere Medicine Fellowship Director:
