Congratulations on considering a field in Addiction Psychiatry. There has never been a more important time for Psychiatrists to specialize in the treatment of substance use and other addictive disorders. We believe there is no better place to receive that education than at Dartmouth. Our department has been a leader in advancing knowledge of the treatment of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, and our fellowship graduates have utilized our training in a wide variety of clinical and leadership positions.
Our fellowship offers a robust clinical experience that is grounded in the academic mission of our prestigious medical center. There is opportunity to work in a number of diverse clinical settings that encompass the spectrum of levels of care, including outpatient, Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and residential treatment. We have a collegial atmosphere where people enjoy the work and the opportunity to live in a beautiful setting, combining easy access to nature with the unique culture of a college town with a premier academic institution.
