Rotation schedule

Clinical training extends across all modalities throughout the program as dictated by clinical demands. However, there is a fixed rotation schedule that covers didactic training and competency assessments:

Year 1

  • Introduction to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and clinical medical physics
  • General radiography
  • General and c-arm fluoroscopy
  • Operations of the Radiation Safety Office
  • CT
  • MRI
  • Angiography and the cardiac catheterization lab
  • Ultrasound
  • Radiation safety and radionuclide therapy
  • Informatics and image displays
  • Review / 1st year exam

Year 2

  • Communication and professionalism
  • Mammography
  • Advanced CT
  • Patient dosimetry
  • Nuclear Medicine
  • Advanced MRI
  • Radiation shielding
  • Clinical observations
  • Review / final exam
