Plastic Surgery Residency Interview Day

Directions and parking

From Route 120, take Lahaye Drive to Hitchcock Loop Road. Please park on the top level of the parking garage and take the stairs or the elevator down to level 4 where you will enter the medical center via the Faulkner Building and follow the directions to the Plastic Surgery Administrative Offices linked below with the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center 4th floor map.

Location and contact information

Interviews take place in the Plastic Surgery Administrative Offices, which are located on Level 4 at "Reception 4E." There is no reception desk at 4E because it is administrative offices, but there is a sign and seating just outside the door. Plastic Surgery Residency Coordinator, Sarah Blum, will come and greet you and escort you to the conference room . You are invited to start the day by learning about the program, and enjoying a light breakfast with Dr. Joseph Shin, Program Director. (Please note: If you ask for directions at the Welcome Desk off the parking garage, ask for 4E. If you ask for Plastic Surgery, they will direct you to the clinical offices at 4M.)

If you have any trouble on interview day, please contact Sarah Blum by calling or sending a text to 802-291-3717 to ensure a timely response.

Policies and agreement

The ACGME requires that each applicant to an accredited residency program be provided with the institutional policies regarding eligibility requirements and selection process along with a sample copy of the current residents and fellows agreement of appointment in force during interview season. Additionally, the Plastic Surgery Residency Review Committee of the ACGME requires that programs notify applicants in writing of the pre-requisite training requirements as outlined by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the Plastic Surgery RRC.

Please familiarize yourself with each of the documents linked below. At the end of interview day, you will be asked to sign off indicating you received a copy of these policies and documents. We will have additional copies on hand during interview day, as your signature is a requirement to be eligible for ranking.

Dinner with the residents

The evening before your interview, the residents host an informal reception and dinner. This is a fun opportunity for you to get to know the residents in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. We will contact you closer to your scheduled date to share details and request an RSVP.

Travel and lodging

If flying will be part of your travel plans, we suggest you use the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport in Manchester, NH (approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes away), due to its proximity to Lebanon. The Burlington International Airport in Burlington, VT, is also an option and may have competitive fares (1 hour 20 minutes away).

A list of hotels up to 10 miles away from the hospital, as well as links to regional airports, hotels and ground transportation can be found within the Travel Information (PDF) document.
