The pursuit of academic interests is a core foundation of our fellowship. Fellows have approximately 10 months of dedicated academic time, concentrated primarily during the 2nd and 3rd years of fellowship. During these allocated rotations, time, space, and resources are provided to allow each fellow to pursue their own academic pursuits.
Beginning in the first year, our fellows work with our fellowship academic mentor to identify areas of interest, specific projects, and mentors within the Center for Digestive Health and the broader medical center resources to encourage project development and completion. We are proud of our department’s academic prowess, and encourage all of our fellows to take advantage of these opportunities during fellowship in preparation for a career of life-long learning and discovery upon graduation.
