Program Introduction for Interviewing Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellows

Congratulations on being invited to a virtual interview with the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center Hospice and Palliative Medicine Interprofessional Fellowship program!

Welcome to  Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center

We have everything that you would expect a major academic center to have, from inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, to a cardiac cath lab. Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center is a beautiful institution and provides a welcoming collegial atmosphere.

Interview day

Given the challenges of the pandemic and our belief that virtual interviews level the diversity and socioeconomic playing field, we wanted to offer candidates interested in our program a more in-depth look at what the Upper Valley,  Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, and our HPM team have to offer. We know this is no substitute for coming to an in-person interview, but we hope you can capture some of the magic we think our team, institution, and geography have to offer!

We will have a few information sessions with Q&A held throughout the interview season. Join one that is prior to your interview or another time that is convenient for you. During this time we will give you a high level view of our teaching approach and content, discuss important diversity and housing initiatives in our region, and give you private time with our current fellows to hear from ‘the front line’ about our program. These run 45 to 60 minutes depending on the conversation.

Our interview day starts at 8:00 am and ends by 3:00 pm. Each interview day will include our interdisciplinary case discussion called Wisdom Wednesday, meeting our program leadership team, and meeting our interdisciplinary faculty members. If you are applying in the 3-year LPMR Combined Track, you will also meet with a LPMR faculty member during your interview day.

If you have not already, log into your ERAS account and use our auto scheduler to select an interview date that works best with your schedule. Once you have scheduled, we will be sending out additional details and information for you to review.

Travel and lodging

Great news! Due to COVID-19 your travel and lodging is completely free! No need to travel, just wait for an agenda with virtual links to be emailed to you and we look forward to meeting you.

The Jack Byrne Center for Palliative & Hospice Care

The Jack Byrne Center for Palliative & Hospice Care opened in 2017 to help our community members with life-limiting illness. Watch the video below to take a tour of the center, or visit the website for more information.

Getting to know our team

We are a team that laughs and cries together. We believe we are stronger together than the sum of our parts. Enjoy these videos created by our faculty to celebrate past fellowship years and one example of a fellow-made video poking fun of their faculty!
