The Vascular Medicine fellow will have dedicated research time, with the goal to complete a focused and well-delineated project. The fellow will be expected to identify an area of research interest in the beginning of the fellowship; depending on the interest, the fellow will be matched with appropriate faculty. We anticipate that the fellow will submit an abstract for presentation at a national conference; and eventually publish a manuscript in a peer-reviewed journal.
There are ample mentored research opportunities in Vascular Medicine, especially health outcomes research in conjunction with the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy & Clinical Practice. There are multiple datasets available for research, including The Vascular Quality Initiative, the Northern New England Cardiovascular Disease Study Group registry, the Pulmonary Embolism registry, and others.
