In the Dartmouth Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) Fellowship, we emphasize the knowledge and skills necessary for conducting diagnostic and ongoing evaluations of children of all ages and for all behavioral and psychiatric disorders as well as for working within systems of care. Training to function as a consultant is emphasized as a necessary role, especially when working in areas with limited psychiatric resources.
Our clinical and didactic curriculum is designed to provide a solid foundation in all essential areas of clinical practice, whether in private practice, community-based care, or intensive services. The program can be individualized to meet the needs of those residents with strong interests in an academic career, including teaching, research, and public policy.
The Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) has granted our program the maximum length of accreditation during the last three rounds of review.
