The VA White River Junction Medical Center serves as a community hospital for the local veteran population and their families. Working closely with faculty, residents follow their patients throughout their hospital stay, providing continuity of care among the medical wards, emergency room, and ICU. Support services including IV, phlebotomy, and radiology are available 24 hours a day. Subspecialty consults are available through VA staff, or through referral to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Outpatient experiences at the VA include a continuity clinic for residents, emergency room experiences, and subspecialty outpatient clinics.
