Program Mission
Program aims
- We train internal medicine residents to develop competence in providing ambulatory care, inpatient care, and internal medicine based subspecialty care such that they can enter clinical practice or match into a competitive internal medicine subspecialty program and continue their professional careers with independence and confidence.
- We teach our residents to become proficient in making the clinical practice of medicine better via the creation of new knowledge through research, medical education, quality improvement projects or advocacy with the aim of reducing healthcare disparities and improving the delivery of health care in whatever setting they choose to practice.
- We seek to foster a diverse and inclusive learning environment in which our trainees learn to provide high quality, humanistic care to medically complex patients from diverse ethnic, racial and socioeconomic backgrounds and across the gender spectrum.
