Welcome from the Program Director

Marcus P. Coe, MD, MS, Residency Program Director, Orthopaedic Surgery

Thank you for your interest in the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program. Here in the foothills of the White Mountains, we have developed a unique program to train tomorrow’s orthopaedic surgeons and future leaders. We pride ourselves on our collegial relationships between faculty and staff while providing a world-class, rigorous education. We emphasize the development of skilled, intellectually-curious residents with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. We provide an early operative experience with a backbone in the clinical evaluation of orthopaedic patients. We participate in groundbreaking research backed by NIH funding. We work in a Level-1 trauma center with world-class outdoor opportunities literally right outside the front door. And we are part of a community that includes Dartmouth College, its associated professional schools, and the host of people an academic mecca attracts.

Don’t hesitate to reach out to us to learn more about the community of residents and attendings that define Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center Orthopaedics or the building blocks of our program.
