Clinical and Longitudinal Experience

Clinical experience

As in all residency training, learning clinical skills tends to revolve around patients seen in our clinics and admitted to our hospitals.

Neurology service and Consultation service patients are seen daily. Mentoring occurs at several levels with primary educators including General Inpatient service attending neurologist, Vascular Service attending Neurologist, Consultation attending neurologist, Elective supervising neurologist, and Chief & senior residents.

Longitudinal experience

PGY1-PGY4 DHMC Longitudinal Outpatient Neurology Clinic.

All residents have a Continuity clinic scheduled for a half day/once a week regardless of which service you are on. (with the exception of Night Float) The resident clinics are scheduled Monday – Thursday afternoons from 1 pm to 4 pm. There are consistent faculty precepting the resident clinic in order to optimize the learning experience and provide consistent feedback.
