PGY-1

Shannon Robins, MD
Shannon is from Ambler, Pennsylvania. She attended the College of William and Mary where she studied Biology and Chemistry. Following graduation, she worked for a Mohs surgeon outside of Boston and later completed research studying pediatric brain tumors in Philadelphia. She graduated from Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, and is excited to continue her residency training with the department that inspired her interest in Otolaryngology. Outside of medicine, she enjoys skiing, stand-up comedy and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Emma Hershey, MD
Emma was born at Dartmouth but spent most of her life in the Boston area. She studied computer science and math with a minor in music at Tufts University. Following undergrad, she went on to work as a software engineer for Athenahealth for several years before deciding to change careers. She attended the University of Michigan for medical school. In her free time, she enjoys elaborate baking projects, playing music with her husband, and long walks with her dog.

Andrew Hess, MD
Andrew is from Columbia, South Carolina. He attended Clemson University for undergrad where he studied Biological Sciences and first became interested in becoming a surgeon. He went on to earn his MD at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia. He completed a rhinology research fellowship at the University of Florida prior to starting residency. Andrew was drawn to Dartmouth’s Otolaryngology program for the opportunity to join a close-knit group of residents and train at a strong academic medical center that serves a rural community. Outside of the hospital Andrew enjoys working on home projects, watching and playing sports, and exploring all of the outdoor activities the Upper Valley has to offer.

Peter James, MD
Pete is from the small town of South Reading, Vermont. He attended Middlebury College, where he studied Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. Prior to earning his MD at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, he spent time as a ski patroller and fly-fishing guide. He was drawn to the program at Dartmouth for the unique opportunity to train at a top academic medical center located in a community to which he has personal ties. When not in the hospital, you will likely find Pete enjoying the beautiful nature of the Upper Valley.

Rebecca Bell, MD
Becca grew up on Cousins Island in Yarmouth, Maine. She attended Williams College where she majored in Biology, competed on the varsity Nordic ski team, and was captain of the women’s lacrosse team. She attended medical school at the Tufts School of Medicine Maine Track program. Outside of the hospital Becca enjoys mountain biking, backcountry skiing, surfing, running, and spending time with her partner, Connor, and her dog, Tuckerman.
