How to apply
Application selection process
Our program participates in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). Please search and find our program under Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center/Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital ACGME ID: 2803212136. We participate in the couples' match within our own program and with other residency programs in our medical center. The NRMP match occurs in March. Residents will begin their training in March, following mandatory orientation sessions.
Application requirements
Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center/Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital does not discriminate in hiring on the basis of age, sex, race or national origin, disability, or sexual orientation.
Interested applicants must apply through Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), submit a completed application with photograph and the following supporting documents:
- Dean's letter
- Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification, if applicable
- Medical School Transcript
- Personal statement (the program specific paragraph is highly encouraged but not required)
- United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 1 Score
- 3 letters of recommendation
In addition to the program requirements mentioned above, our Graduate Medical Education Office has specific institutional eligibility requirements, including information about VISAs.
Please note that the State of New Hampshire requires a passing score on all parts of Step 2 in order to be eligible for a (Resident Training) license.

Interviews
Interview Days are held in early January and at this time will be performed virtually. Alternative dates for interviews will be considered on an individual basis. Invitations to interview will be sent by email to the address you have provided in ERAS.
Upon receipt of an application, the selection committee will review and notify each applicant by email of the decision to interview.
