Graduate Medical Education (GME) benefits

Robust benefits package from GME including:

  • Annual wilderness medicine didactic day with cookout
  • Resident retreat: Annual off-site overnight retreat—planned by and for residents—offers the opportunity for residents to spend time together in a non-clinical setting. Venues have included Ragged Mountain ski resort, Dartmouth Skiway, mountain and lake retreat vacation rentals. Residents are released from all clinical obligations for at least 24 hours.

Conferences

The program covers expenses for resident attendance at a variety of conferences.

  • All Residents:
    • Center for Rural Emergency Services and Trauma Annual Symposium at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center – Annual conference focusing on practical skills and clinical skills for emergency care providers with the goal of improving the care of rural patients.
    • Managing Medical Emergencies at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center – Annual conference during which internal and regional Emergency Medicine faculty present cutting-edge topics and cases relevant to EM practice.
  • PGY-1: Vermont Emergency Medicine Update: Stowe, Vermont
  • PGY-2: The Difficult Airway course: Boston, Massachusetts
  • PGY-3: Other regional/national conferences as resources permit: examples include CORD, ACEP, SAEM
  • The program will support resident presentation at additional conferences to present research or other projects as opportunities arise.
